The River Sisters

The River Sisters is a women’s cancer survivor dragon boat team. We are a diverse group of cancer survivors of various ages and backgrounds, athletic abilities and fitness levels. We have gained a passion for the ancient art of dragon boating and we meet weekly between April and October at the Camden County Boathouse to paddle on the Cooper River. We have fun as we practice and compete in various dragon boat festivals each season. Our mission is to raise awareness about all kinds of cancers and to show others who are weakened by the struggle of cancer that there is life after this disease. We started out as strangers with only our disease in common. Now we are a floating support group of women who want to share our passion for life with other cancer survivors, their families and friends. We encourage all women living with cancer to look to a future filled with strength, enthusiasm and hope. We welcome you to join us!
